Prioritizing stress management and incorporating mindfulness practices can develop better coping strategies and improve quality of life.

By addressing the underlying causes of your MS symptoms, you can enjoy improved ms related symptoms, increased energy levels, and better sleep quality. This approach can also help you regain control over your life, reduce dependence on medication, and enhance your overall well-being.

How can you harness the power of exercise and nutrition to effectively manage your MS symptoms? Regular acupuncture sessions can also improve overall digestive health, reducing symptoms like nausea and bloating, which are common in MS patients digestive health. Yoga or low-impact aerobic exercises are excellent options, as they can help reduce fatigue and improve overall well-being.

Avoid or limit foods that can exacerbate MS symptoms, such as gluten, dairy, refined sugars, and saturated fats. Consuming antioxidant-rich foods like berries and leafy greens can help reduce inflammation and boost energy levels. Staying well-hydrated is also vital, so aim to drink at least eight glasses of water per day.

Integrating Alternative Therapies

Your path to managing MS symptoms can be enhanced by embracing a holistic approach that incorporates alternative therapies into your treatment plan. By combining traditional treatments with complementary therapies like acupuncture, you can strengthen your immune response, reduce inflammation, and promote overall well-being. Throughout your journey with MS, you’re likely to encounter a range of therapies and treatment approaches, each with its own set of goals and outcomes. When it comes to measuring success in managing your multiple sclerosis symptoms, vital to use outcome measures that accurately assess the effectiveness of your treatment plan. Considering the impact of stress and anxiety on muscle tension, incorporating stress management techniques, such as acupuncture’s role, can be beneficial in optimizing your MS symptom management. Fatigue, a common symptom of MS, can be evaluated using the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS). The MS Impact Scale (MSIS-29) and Health-Related Quality of Life (HQ-12) questionnaires also provide valuable insights into your overall quality of life. Additionally, measures like the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) help track changes in your symptoms and mobility over time. These outcome measures help your healthcare team determine whether your treatment plan, including acupuncture, is improving your symptoms and enhancing your quality of life. By regularly tracking your progress, you and your healthcare team can make informed decisions about your care and make adjustments as needed. By taking an exhaustive approach to measuring success, you can optimize your MS symptom management and improve your overall well-being.

Read about MR’s inspiring journey to better health and how they overcame MS with Dr. Justin’s support.

Dear Justin,

Before I found my way to your office in July I was despondent over the persistence of severe and debilitating nerve pain at the base of my skull. While the cause of the pain was initially diagnosed- and treated- as shingles- it became apparent that this was not the cause of my problem. Neither was it certain that the inflammation of nerves that apparently cause the pain were a result of the MS, from which I also suffer.

Neurontin moderated the pain, though over 4 years it ceased to provide relief as the dosage got higher and higher. At 2600 mg a day (the supposed maximum) the neurologist had me try two other drugs: tramadol and lyrica. In both cases pain was relieved by the drugs- but I otherwise felt ill and shaky enough that I was unable to drive and lost weight and appetite.

Your very first treatment was nothing short of a miracle! Your examination of my neck was thorough (no physician had ever bothered to touch me where I said it hurt!) and you said that you thought you could help me in as few as four treatments.

Your further advice about techniques and simple exercises that would help me to moderate other effects of MS has been excellent. Living free of pain has been a gift, for which I thank you.

With great pleasure I’ve recommended you to friends- one of whom has already had excellent results.”

Yours truly, MR
